About My Studio
I have taught private flute lessons since 1998. Currently, I am located at Robinson Music, Inc. in Westborough,
MA. For more information about lessons, please see my "studio policies" link or visit www.robinsonmusic.org.
As a teacher my primary goal is to teach others to enjoy music and playing the flute. At the same time, I try to
ensure that each individual recieves the best possible education to allow him or her to succeed in and beyond their school
music programs. My studio provides a fun and challenging atmosphere for my students.
About Me
I earned a Bachelor of Music in Education with a flute emphasis, Magna Cum Laude, from Youngstown State University (Youngstown,
OH) in 2005. I spent the past nine years teaching private flute lessons in northeast Ohio, eventually developing a studio
of over 40 students. My students were quite successful in their respective school music programs, with many holding
leadership positions. They consistently earned top ratings at the Ohio Music Education Association's solo and ensemble
contest and were accepted to play in regional ensembles like the Youngstown Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Stambaugh Youth
Concert Band. In 2007, two students were accepted to compete at the Central Ohio Flute Association's annual competitions;
both finished in the top three in their respective divisions.
I have studied the flute for 14 years, and my teachers include Dr. Kathryn Umble, Dr. Nancy Andrew, and Mrs. Rae Anne
Cleal. In 2004, I traveled to London, England, to study with world-renowned flutist William Bennett at the William Bennett
International Flute Summer School. This 10 day intensive-study course included exceptional flutists from all over the
world.
During my time at YSU, I participated in the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Dana Symphony Orchestra, Flute Ensemble, and Marching
Pride. In March of 2005, I performed with the wind ensemble in Carnegie Hall in New York City.
In addition to teaching, I am available to play for a variety of events, including weddings and church services.
